Mexico Writing Retreat, Saturday 30 November – Saturday 6th December 2024

Prices

A deposit is payable directly to Centauri Arts, in Canadian dollars, at the time of booking. The balance of fees is payable to Luz En Yucatan, in US dollars, 12 weeks prior to our trip. Please note that any credit card can be used to pay each fee, regardless of the country in which you reside. Fee 1 – Deposit Payable on Registration

This fee covers writing instructor and group leader services offered by Centauri Arts and includes:
6 writing workshops (minimum total contact time – 15 hours)
A manual of writing prompts and techniques
A copy of Julie Hartley’s poetry collection
Writing-related talks, readings and social activities (2-3 evenings)
Group leader services, information on local activities, tour manual.

Writers: $675CDN (approx. $410 US)
Non-writer, same room: $ 150CDN (approx. $118US)
(excludes writing workshops)

Fee 2 – Payable 30 Days Before Trip

This fee covers 7 nights’ accommodation, use of lodge facilities (pool, kitchen, wifi, patios and gardens) and taxes.
This fee also includes Breakfast in Luz’s new breakfast room!
This fee is due directly to Luz En Yucatan, 30 days prior to our retreat, and is shown in US dollars. Each room is slightly different; to select your room of choice please visit www.luzenyucatan.com . The costs are for single occupancy; add $70US per week for a second person in the same room.

Additional Services & Fees

Airport Transfer: A taxi from Merida airport costs under $20US and can be arranged for you in advance by Luz, if you wish.
For meals during our retreat, choose from dozens of nearby bakeries, cafes, grocery stores and restaurants. Budget $12-25 for a restaurant meal.

Many of the attractions in Merida are free, or inexpensive. Sightseeing options outside Merida may cost $10-80US depending on the activity and the mode of transportation. Or, you may just wish to relax and write!
Our fees do not include your flight to Merida, nor medical insurance.
